Welcome to Elysiam

Elysiam Mission Statement
Elysiam’s purpose and directive is to pursue end game raiding content competitively and without diversion. To clarify, World of Warcraft is a game.  Games are meant to be fun, enjoyable, and competitive.  All games are most enjoyable while winning, and our aim is to win under every opportunity. Under these parameters, we desire to build a community that allows us to maximize our potential as players and build friendships.

What we look for in a player
First and foremost we look for players who are loyal.  Elysiam is always looking towards the future for progression and most of our raiders are long term.  Elysiam’s raiders are expected to play at the highest level of their class.  One must be critical of his or her gameplay, and be willing to accept criticism as motivation.  We expect players to be comfortable being on standby or benched if certain encounters require class stacking or alternate comps during progression.  It should be the goal of every raider to provide the maximum amount of utility during any encounter.  These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, volunteering for duties in raid (e.g. interrupts, kiting etc), participating in forum discussions and having well maintained alts for comp issues.  Raiders who are most respected are accountable, even tempered, and high performing ones.

Raid Attendance
Raid attendance is paramount for solidifying raid positions.  Mandatory raid days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7:30pm to 11:30pm. Preparation for raids will begin 30 minutes prior to the raid start. During progression there will be times when we are making headway on a boss kill and we will go over normal raid times to down a boss.  If you are a recruit, you are expected to be there 100% of the time.

Loot
Loot is distributed via loot council.  Loot is awarded based on a variety of factors including need, attendance, performance, attitude, loyalty etc.  There are multiple variables considered when awarding loot, but primarily loot will be awarded with respect of furthering progression as best as possible.

Application Process
Applications are reviewed on a daily basis.  New or trial members will play on a probationary period that lasts from six to eight weeks.  However, it can be extended under certain circumstances. To fully put the applicants to the test, he or she may be thrown in a spur of the moment situation, or given a difficult task, just to see how he or she will succeed. We do not promote or keep average players. We need players that are completely confident in their abilities to play their class to the fullest. While making mistakes can be commonplace in raiding situations, players who make little to no mistakes will be valued highly.  Most mistakes are made from lack of focus or lack of indicators/information to prevent mistakes, and an above average player knows how to identify problems and solve them.  Every wipe to preventable mistakes can set us back significantly.  If you know you have what it takes to compete with some of the best players around, then you’ll do fine here. We don’t settle for anything less.
